Top Tips for Finding Clients

Forms of art: painting, dance, performance, finding clients, sculpting, etc.

You did read that correctly, finding clients, especially great ones, is an art form.

How you find great clients, similar to art, is subjective. Not everything works for everyone, and your strengths will be different than another business owner’s. However, there are some basics and I’d like to share a few ways you can start finding your clients!

Network

Networking is a great way to find potential clients. Attend events and conferences, join online forums, and connect with people in your field.

Develop a strong online presence

Make sure your website and social media profiles showcase your work and provide potential clients with an understanding of who you are and what you do.

Use referrals

Ask your current clients for referrals or reach out to colleagues and ask them to recommend you to their contacts.

Join professional organizations

Joining professional organizations or associations related to your field is a great way to make contacts and find potential clients.

Write guest blog posts

Writing guest blog posts on industry-related websites can help you attract potential clients and get your name out there.

Make cold contacts

Cold contacts can be a bit intimidating, but don't let that stop you from reaching out to potential clients. Put together a list of contacts and start introducing yourself.

Utilize LinkedIn

LinkedIn is a great platform for making connections and finding potential clients. Join relevant groups, follow thought leaders, and engage with posts to increase your visibility.

Follow up

Don't be afraid to follow up with people after your initial contact. It shows that you are committed and interested in working with them.

These are just a few ways you can find your ideal clients, some may work for you, some may not. You can use these as a jumping-off point and follow where it leads!
