Canadian Tax Deadlines and Important Dates for 2025
A new year means new dates!
Well, sure, the kind you go on but also the type of dates you keep track of for tax season!
I’ve put together a list of some of the core dates to keep track of for the 2025 Tax Year.
Here are the dates you should mark on your calendar for 2025:
January 15, 2025
Fourth Quarter Instalment Payment Due
Businesses that pay their taxes in quarterly instalments need to make their final payment for the 2024 tax year.
February 28, 2025
T4 and T5 Slips
The deadline for employers to file T4 slips (Statement of Remuneration Paid) and T5 slips (Statement of Investment Income) with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and provide copies to employees and recipients.
March 15, 2025
First Quarter Instalment Payment Due
Businesses that pay their taxes in quarterly instalments need to make their first payment for the 2025 tax year.
March 31, 2025
T3 Trust Returns
The deadline for filing T3 Trust Income Tax and Information Returns for trusts with December 31 year-end.
April 30, 2025
Personal Income Tax Returns
Deadline for individuals, including sole proprietors and unincorporated business owners, to file their personal income tax returns for the 2024 tax year and pay any balance due.
GST/HST Returns
Annual filers must file their GST/HST returns and pay any amounts owed for the previous year.
June 15, 2025
Personal Income Tax Returns for Self-Employed Individuals
Deadline for self-employed individuals and their spouses or common-law partners to file their personal income tax returns. However, any taxes owing are still due by April 30, 2025.
Second Quarter Instalment Payment Due
Businesses that pay their taxes in quarterly instalments need to make their second payment for the 2025 tax year.
June 30, 2025
T5013 Partnership Information Returns:
Deadline for filing T5013 Partnership Information Returns for partnerships with a December 31 year-end.
September 15, 2025
Third Quarter Instalment Payment Due
Businesses that pay their taxes in quarterly instalments need to make their third payment for the 2025 tax year.
Throughout the Year
Monthly/Quarterly GST/HST Returns
Depending on your filing frequency, monthly and quarterly GST/HST returns are due throughout the year. Ensure you know your specific deadlines to stay compliant.
Corporate Income Tax Returns
Corporate income tax returns are due 6 months after your fiscal year has ended, so YOUR fiscal year-end date will influence when your Corporate Income Tax Return is due.
